This friendly fixture was played in fantastic spirits by both teams, showcasing the very best of community pickleball. The Sharps side, captained by Matt, featured an exciting mix of new faces and experienced hands and they delivered across the board.
👏 A warm welcome to our debutants Edel, Io, Lucy, and Ken Y, who slotted in seamlessly alongside our seasoned players Ken R, Sally, and Trish.
The men set the tone early, claiming 7 out of 8 games in the gender doubles but the ladies took it one step further with a clean sweep of 8 out of 8! 🎉 An outstanding performance that gave Sharps a commanding lead.
Hatfield fought back in the mixed doubles and managed to win 6 games in a late rally. However, the early damage had been done and the Sharps advantage was too strong to overturn.
Two matches ended in draws due to time constraints, but the final result was a clear victory:
