Hertfordshire County Team Extends Unbeaten Run With Dominant Sussex Victory

Hertfordshire continued their remarkable county campaign with another dominant performance, defeating Sussex by an incredible 122 to 6 at Batchwood Sports Centre in St Albans.

The result extends Hertfordshire's unbeaten run and further strengthens their position as one of the strongest county teams in the country. The team once again demonstrated depth, consistency and teamwork across every court throughout the day.

Leading the side was county captain Philip, whose leadership has overseen a string of impressive results and helped build a strong county setup with players from clubs across Hertfordshire working together towards continued success.

SHARP Pickleball was particularly well represented, with thirteen SHARP players making up approximately 40% of the Hertfordshire squad. This level of representation highlights both the strength of the club and the standard of players currently competing within the county setup.

Representing SHARP Pickleball were:

• Millie

• Bhavika

• Trish

• Trudy

• Diya

• Joss

• Bhanu

• Romeo

• Calum

• Jayson

• Gavin

• Julian

• Philip

• Tim

Special recognition goes to Tim, Diya, Jayson and Romeo, who competed once again after their successful performances the previous day at the Stroud tournament, showing impressive commitment and resilience across a busy weekend of competitive pickleball.

The county programme has become an important part of the growth of competitive pickleball in Hertfordshire, with inter county fixtures providing players with opportunities to test themselves against some of the strongest opposition in England. Batchwood has become a regular venue for these fixtures and continues to play an important role in supporting the development of the sport within the county.

The result against Sussex follows a growing history of county competition in Hertfordshire, with participation and standards continuing to rise year after year as pickleball expands across the UK. Hertfordshire has established itself as one of the leading counties in the sport and continues to build momentum heading into future fixtures.

Congratulations to the entire Hertfordshire squad on another outstanding performance and on maintaining their unbeaten record.
